Creating and Managing Evaluation Items and Evaluation Metrics

HireRoo allows you to set "Evaluation Items" and "Evaluation Metrics" as criteria for qualitatively evaluating candidates. By defining these in advance, you can prevent discrepancies in evaluation standards among interviewers and achieve fair engineer recruitment that is not dependent on individuals.

Definition of Concepts

  • Evaluation Item
    • This is the smallest unit used to qualitatively evaluate candidates based on test results.
    • (Examples: Code readability, error handling, design scalability, etc.)
  • Evaluation Metric
    • This is a set (package) combining multiple "Evaluation Items".
    • It is created according to your company's recruitment standards and positions and used as a template during technical reviews.

Accessing the Setup Screen

To manage evaluation items and evaluation metrics, follow these steps to access the setup screen:

  1. From "Test List," select any completed test.
  2. Open the "Test Report" tab and click the "Technical Review" button in the lower right.
  3. Click "Set Metrics" on the left side of the displayed pop-up.

1. Creating Evaluation Items

You can add your own custom items in addition to those pre-prepared by the administration.

  1. On the setup screen, click the "Item List" tab.
  2. Click the "Create" button.
  3. In the pop-up, enter the "Item Name" and "Description," then click "Create" to complete.

Tips for Creation By entering a name and description that are easy for other team members to understand, you can prevent confusion for reviewers and standardize the quality of evaluation.

2. Creating Evaluation Metrics

Bundle the registered evaluation items to create "metrics" for actual review.

  1. On the setup screen, click the "Metric List" tab and then click the "Create" button.
  2. Enter Basic Information
    • Enter the "Name" and "Description" for the metric.
    • After entering, click the "Next" button.
  3. Select Items
    • Select multiple evaluation items that you want to include in this metric.
    • You can search by item name or click from the list to link them.
    • After selecting, click the "Next" button.
  4. Confirm and Finalize
    • Check if the entered content is correct, then click the "Finalize" button.
    • If corrections are needed, you can go back using the "Back" button (editing after creation is also possible).

Workflow

The created evaluation metrics are used by members with engineer permissions when conducting a "technical review." Reviewers score and comment based on the metrics defined here.
