Release of "Terraform" Problem to Measure Infrastructure Operations Automation Skills

A new Terraform problem has been added to the practical format.

This problem is designed to fairly evaluate candidates' ability to write Terraform itself and their understanding of IaC (Infrastructure as Code) concepts.

Problem Overview

Use Terraform to build a web application stack on a local environment (Docker).

Main Tasks

  • Container creation: Create Nginx (Web) and Redis (cache) containers
  • Network configuration: Establish inter-communication using a custom network

This problem is positioned as an introductory level IaC problem and is ideal for evaluating candidates with the following scope and skill sets:

  • Backend engineers who can also handle infrastructure construction
  • Screening junior-level SRE / DevOps engineers
