Overview

From approximately 23:32 on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, to approximately 9:18 on Thursday, June 18, 2026, an issue occurred where some screens in HireRoo would not finish loading or operations could not be completed.

This failure may have affected corporate users and candidates who used HireRoo during this period.

If accessed during this period, the screen may have remained stuck on "Loading," data retrieval after login may not have finished, or certain operations may have failed.

Cause

The TLS certificate for the domain that handles HireRoo API communication had expired.

Although the automatic certificate renewal process had started in advance, a portion of the certificate issuance settings had been modified for a specific purpose. This prevented the wildcard certificate used for the HireRoo core API from being updated correctly.

As a result, communication from the HireRoo interface to the API was blocked by browsers, causing issues such as screens failing to load or operations failing to process normally.

Resolution

We corrected the certificate issuance settings and manually executed the reissue of the target certificate.

After confirming that the new certificate was being distributed and that TLS connections to the API endpoints could be successfully verified, we determined the system was fully recovered at approximately 9:18.

Preventive Measures

To prevent a recurrence of this issue, we will implement the following measures:

  • Add monitoring and alerts for the expiration of production API certificates.
  • Strengthen monitoring to detect if a "pending renewal" or "failed" status persists in the certificate management system.
  • Add a procedure to verify whether existing domains can still be renewed before modifying certificate issuance settings.
  • Reflect the current fix into the Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) configuration to ensure settings are not reverted during future deployments.

Current Status

The system has been restored, and HireRoo is available for use as usual.
